Heartbreaking: Family of 5-Year-Old Girl with Rare Brain Cancer Appeal for Support

A North West family is rallying public support after their five-year-old daughter, Rosie, was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive brain tumour.

Rosie has received treatment at Leighton Hospital, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, and most recently The Christie in Manchester. Despite doctors’ best efforts, her condition is considered incurable, with treatment only expected to prolong her life.

Her parents say they are now focused on making precious memories with Rosie, while also raising awareness about the lack of funding and research into childhood brain cancer.

“We’ve been overwhelmed by local support so far,” they said. “But we want to make more people aware of how cruel this disease is—not just for Rosie, but for many others like her. There needs to be more investment in research.”

The family has appeared on ITV and in local newspapers, and are now appealing for further help through a GoFundMe page titled ‘Support Rosie and her family through brain cancer’.

They are also calling on broadcasters and media outlets to share their story to shine a light on the urgent need for better treatment options.

“We’re both off work and trying to cope with the reality that there is no cure,” they added. “If you can help in any way—whether by donating, sharing, or simply talking about this—please do.”
