Company Shop Group is recruiting a Retail Shift Lead to help manage the day-to-day running of its Washington store. The role involves leading colleagues, maintaining high retail standards and ensuring members receive a positive shopping experience.

Company Shop Group redistributes surplus food and household products, helping reduce waste while supporting communities through its retail stores and social enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead colleagues during shifts, set clear expectations and support team performance.
• Coach team members and provide feedback to maintain standards.
• Oversee store opening and closing procedures.
• Coordinate replenishment, deliveries, waste, markdowns, cash office activities and housekeeping.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and store presentation.
• Deliver excellent member service and resolve customer queries.
• Ensure food safety, health and safety policies are followed.
• Work with other Shift Leads and support the Assistant Store Manager and Store Manager.
• Identify operational issues and escalate people or performance concerns when necessary.

What Company Shop Group Is Looking For:

• Previous supervisory or team leader experience in retail.
• Knowledge of daily retail operations and store standards.
• Experience opening and closing stores and overseeing daily activities.
• Experience handling cash and processing refunds.
• Ability to lead, motivate and coach colleagues.
• Good communication, organisation and commercial awareness.
• A strong commitment to customer service.
• Food Safety Level 1 qualification, or willingness to obtain one.

Working Hours:

The role is for 20 hours per week, worked Monday to Saturday between 6am and 10pm, and Sunday between 7.30am and 8pm. A degree of flexibility is required.
