Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook and present nutritious meals and snacks for residents
- Plan menus around dietary requirements, allergies and personal preferences
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety
- Monitor food stock levels and assist with ordering supplies
- Comply with Food Safety and Health & Safety regulations
- Maintain accurate records for food temperatures, cleaning schedules and allergen management
- Work with colleagues to provide a positive dining experience for residents
- Contribute ideas for seasonal menus, themed meals and special occasions
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Cook, Chef or Kitchen Assistant
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate desirable
- Knowledge of special diets and nutritional requirements for older adults
- Organised and reliable approach
- Ability to work independently
- Caring and compassionate attitude
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in your work
About The Role
KAY CARE SERVICES is recruiting two Cooks to join its kitchen team at Hepscott Care Centre in Morpeth.
The role involves preparing and serving nutritious, home-cooked meals and snacks for older residents, taking account of dietary requirements, allergies and individual preferences. The successful applicants will work closely with the Home Manager and care team to create enjoyable dining experiences while maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety.
The position is permanent and full-time, with 35 hours per week and pay of £12.86–£13.50 per hour.
Responsibilities include menu planning, food preparation, stock monitoring, ordering supplies and maintaining records relating to food temperatures, cleaning and allergens. Cooks will also have the opportunity to contribute ideas for seasonal menus, themed meals and special occasions.
