About The Role
Manor Care Home Group is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join the kitchen team at Ella McCambridge Care Home.
You will support the Cook with food preparation, help maintain a clean and organised kitchen, and ensure food is handled and stored safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, slicing and measuring ingredients.
- Help prepare meals for residents.
- Keep kitchen areas clean, tidy and sanitised.
- Follow food safety guidelines when handling and storing food.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
- Check stock levels and inform supervisors when supplies are running low.
- Work with the kitchen team to support daily operations.
Requirements
- Previous care home kitchen experience is preferred but not essential.
- Familiarity with food preparation techniques is advantageous.
- Knowledge of food safety practices is beneficial.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a busy kitchen.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Previous experience as a chef, in catering or in cooking is preferred but is not stated as essential.
