Contract: Permanent, Zero-Hours Contract
Hours: Minimum Of 100 Hours Per Month
Additional Pay: Monthly Bonus, Pro-Rated According To Achievement Of Objectives.

About The Role

SUEZ is recruiting a Site Operative to support operations at its Alnwick Transfer Station and Household Waste Recycling Centre.

The role involves assisting members of the public, supporting waste recycling and recovery activities, maintaining site records and helping ensure the site operates safely and efficiently.

The position will primarily provide cover for holidays, training days and emergencies across sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise and assist members of the public on how to use the site and maximise the recovery of deposited materials.
• Maintain accurate records of material removals and site activities.
• Coordinate container exchanges and book loads to ensure sufficient space for waste segregation and storage.
• Keep the site tidy and organised.
• Support compliance with health, safety and welfare requirements.
• Follow site permits, relevant legislation and company policies and procedures.
• Undertake first-aider and fire-warden duties on site.
• Carry out other reasonable duties within the scope of the role.

Requirements

• An enthusiastic team player with a flexible approach to work.
• Full understanding of site licences and permits, developed as required.
• Willingness to undertake training and personal development in waste acceptance, site operations and equipment maintenance.
• Basic administration skills for recording information on company reporting systems are advantageous.
• A full driving licence and access to your own transport are essential.
• Availability to provide cover for holidays and sickness when required.
• A responsible, honest and respectful approach to work.
