About The Role

Sodexo is recruiting a part-time Food Service Assistant in Washington. The successful candidate will join the catering team, helping prepare and serve food and beverages while providing friendly, professional customer service.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, can maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation, and is comfortable working in a busy catering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, present and serve food and beverages.
• Welcome customers and provide excellent customer service.
• Operate the till and process payments accurately when required.
• Prepare and deliver refreshments for meetings, events and hospitality services.
• Keep food counters stocked, clean and attractively presented.
• Refill vending machines and ensure products are correctly rotated.
• Assist with stock rotation, ordering and stocktaking.
• Maintain clean and hygienic kitchens, dining areas, equipment and utensils.
• Follow food safety, health and safety, hygiene and COSHH procedures.
• Report customer feedback, equipment faults, maintenance issues and incidents.
• Support catering functions, events and additional service requirements.
• Provide cover for colleagues during holidays and sickness when needed.
• Complete training and attend team meetings.

Requirements

• A reliable, flexible and organised approach to work.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
• An understanding of food hygiene and safe working practices.
• The ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment.

Previous experience in catering, hospitality, food service, retail or customer service is desirable. A Food Safety Certificate would be an advantage, although training can be provided.
