Working Hours: 22.5 Hours Per Week, With Varied Shifts Across Seven Days, Including Early Starts, Late Finishes And Weekends. Latest Finish Is 10pm.
About The Role:
Waitrose & Partners is looking for a customer-focused delivery driver to deliver groceries safely and provide friendly, reliable service to customers. When not making deliveries, you will support the shop team with stock replenishment, housekeeping and other general duties.
The role involves driving modern, well-maintained vehicles and ensuring every delivery meets Waitrose’s standards for care, safety and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver groceries safely and provide excellent customer service.
- Communicate with customers about substitutions and changes to orders.
- Resolve customer concerns, including arranging refunds where appropriate.
- Handle groceries and deliveries carefully.
- Help customers with their shopping and build trusting relationships.
- Check and familiarise yourself with delivery routes.
- Carry out vehicle safety checks before driving.
- Support stock replenishment, housekeeping and general operational tasks.
- Assist the wider team with warehouse duties when required.
Candidate Requirements:
- Must be aged 18 or over.
- Full, valid UK manual car driving licence, Category B, with no more than six penalty points.
- Friendly approach and strong customer service skills.
- Dependable, professional and well-presented.
- Able to undertake physical tasks, including lifting crates, moving large cages and carrying items weighing approximately up to 18kg.
- Previous work-related driving experience or familiarity with refrigerated vans is desirable but not essential; training is provided.
Additional Pay: Hours worked between 10pm and 6am attract a night premium of £3.75 per hour. The advertised shift pattern states the latest finish is 10pm.
