Joe Gelhardt- All You Need to Know

Sunderland signed the promising forward, Joe Gelhardt from Leeds United on loan until the end of the season.
At just 20-years-old, Gelhardt had plenty of interest from other Championship clubs, including, Wigan Athletic, where he strted his career, but The Black Cats were able to convince him to join them.
During his time at Wigan, he made his professional debut at just 16 years of age when he appeared as a substitute against Rotherham United in the League Cup.
The following season he made 18 appearances in the Championship for The Latics and he impressed which earned him a move to newly promoted, Premier League side, Leeds United for a fee of £1 million.
Last season he made 20 appearances in the Premier League, scoring once as he helped Leeds survive in the top tier.
So far this season he has made 15 appearances for Leeds, most of them as a substitute, but he is yet to score a goal.
He is also currently representing England at U20s level, where he has played 1 game and he scored a hat-trick during a 6-1 win over Romania.
Gelhardt has played a total of 28 games for The Three Lions at youth level, scoring an impressive 21 goals in the process.
As a promising, 20-year-old, he fits Sunderland’s new model brilliantly as we continue to bring in, and develop talented and young players.
