New Mural to be created for Millfield Metro Station, and an artist is wanted!
Nexus have announced that it is commissioning a new mural work of art on the concrete back of Millfield Metro Station, and are seeking to commission an artist to do it!
The mural will celebrate the 40th anniversary of opening of the Tyne & Wear Metro (although we should not forget in Sunderland it has only operated for 20)
A Nexus Spokesperson statedL “We are delighted to celebrate Tyne and Wear Metro‘s 40th Anniversary with Nexus by commissioning a large-scale mural at Millfield Metro Station, alongside a community project with local residents.”
“We are looking for artists to propose subject matter for the mural that is unique and captures the spirit of the Metro Community Takeover.”
