Rotherham vs Sunderland – Match Preview & Prediction

The Black Cats travel down to the New York Stadium to face a struggling Rotherham side.

Early on in the season, former Millers manager, Paul Warne, left the club to join Derby County.

He was replaced by Matt Taylor in October, but he hasn’t been able to get the Millers going, winning just 4 in 23 games in charge.

Sunderland could move as high as 4th with a victory, depending on results, as they continue their hunt for play-offs in just their first season back in The Championship.

The Millers have failed to win any of their last 5 games, whereas Sunderland are unbeaten in their last 5 games, winning 3 and drawing 2.

Last time out, Sunderland were held to a 1-1 draw at home to in-form Bristol City, thanks to a 93rd minute penalty.

Niall Huggins is back in training, but he is still 1-2 weeks from a return to the squad.

Lynden Gooch is also a few weeks away from a return.

Prediction

Rotherham 0-1 Sunderland.

Scorer – Jack Clarke.
