Sunderland 2-0 Luton Town – Match Report
Enzo Le Fee scores his first Sunderland goal, as The Black Cats beat Luton to keep the pressure on the top 2.
Sunderland stay 4th in the table, 5 points behind Sheffield United in 2nd, but it was a vital win for confidence and momentum going into the final run in.
Enzo Le Fee scored a beautiful goal after just 13 minutes, after cutting inside from the left and curling the ball into the bottom right-hand corner from just outside the box.
Sunderland we’re dominant throughout, with Luton only having 33% possession and 1 shot on goal.
There was one scare when the score was still 1-0, Anthony Patterson saved a header onto the post from Carlton Morris, and Millenic Alli somehow missed from a yard out, but the offside flag saved his blushes.
Wilson Isidor put the game to bed with his 3rd goal in 4 matches with half an hour remaining.
Enzo Le Fee’s cross was cut out, but the ball fell straight into Isidor’s path, and he caught the ‘keeper out with a first time shot into the bottom corner.
Patfick Roberts was unlucky not to add to the score line late on, as he went on a mazey run towards the Watford penalty area, and he curled a shot, similar to Le Fee’s, but it hit the post and came back out.
Next up for Sunderland, is a huge match in the race for promotion, as The Black Cats travel to Elland Road to take on top of the league Leeds United.
