Coventry come back from 2-0 down to secure a point, after 2 wonderful goals go to waste for Sunderland.

Sunderland remain top of the table, but their lead is now cut to 2 points, and 3 points ahead of Sheffield United, who have a game in hand as they play their arch-rivals, Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow.

Wilson Isidor scored an outrageous volley yet again at The Stadium of Light, this time it was a delicate touch which lobbed the ball over the ‘keeper to make it 1-0.

Dennis Cirkin doubled the lead with 10 minutes remaining in the first-half, with a potential goal of the season contender.

He won the ball back in his own half, played a nice one-two with Mundle, drove forward and blasted the ball from over 30-yards into the top corner.

The Black Cats were comfortable for the rest of the first-half, but it seems like the second-half just all fell apart for them.

Coventry started to dominate the ball more and more as the second-half went on, then a lucky ricochet opened up the goal for Haji Wright to half the deficit with 30 minutes remaining.

Simon Moore made a great save to deny Norman Bassette after a good header, but all the pressure eventually prevailed for the Sky Blues with 6 minutes of normal time remaining.

Chris Mepham’s clearance could only find Sakamoto on the left-hand side, and his cross found Jack Rudoni, who’s header found it’s way in to earn Coventry a point.

It is now 8 matches unbeaten for Sunderland, but they have drawn their last 3 matches.

It is now 2 weeks until the next Sunderland match, due to another international game, they face Millwall at The Den on Saturday 23rd November.
