Watford VS Sunderland – Match Preview & Prediction
The Black Cats face The Hornets at Vicarage Road in their final away day of the 2023/24 season.
Watford have not won a home league match since November, where they beat Norwich City 3-2.
Sunderland will be looking to end the season off well, despite not having anything to play for.
Last time out, Sunderland lost 0-1 against Millwall at The Stadium of Light thanks to a strike by Duncan Watmore, which was eventually ruled as an own goal by Dan Ballard.
The Black Cats have won just 2 of the 11 games that Mike Dodds has taken charge of, meaning Dodds only has an 18% win record.
In the reverse fixture, Sunderland came out 2-0 winners, thanks to a fantastic goal by Niall Huggins and a 2nd half strike by Abdullah Ba, before Ryan Andrews was sent off for Watford late on.
Earlier in the week, it was announced that Sunderland’s player of the century, Charlie Hurley, had passed away, so hopefully The Black Cats can secure a victory in the name of ‘The King’.
Team News
There are no new injury concerns for the trip to Watford.
Dennis Cirkin and Nazariy Rusyn have returned to training, but will not feature.
