Gentoo Plans to Build Housing on Farringdon Field Opposite Gilley Law Withdrawn

Conservative councillors in Farringdon have stated that a highly unpopular Gentoo Plan to build housing on a field next to Allendale Road has been scrapped, facing significant opposition from locals.

The plans, part of a continuing and controversial effort by the housing group to build on green land all over Sunderland in the name of “affordable housing”, were widely seen as an unnecessary destruction of local green space, as well as a traffic hazard, leading to a petition against it.

However, Councillor Dominic McDonough, who led the opposition to the development, believes that the plans are only withdrawn and not yet fully scrapped, predicting that the housing group will attempt to submit another application in the near future.
