About The Role
Ability Supplies UK Limited is recruiting Retail Warehouse Operatives to join its team in Sunderland. This is an active, fast-paced role involving customer service, stock handling, merchandising and warehouse operations.
Successful candidates will need to be reliable, organised, safety-conscious and able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Training and procedures will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Retail Duties
- Serving customers and responding to enquiries.
- Preparing products for sale.
- Handling and replenishing stock.
- Merchandising and maintaining store standards.
- Supporting store and car park maintenance and security.
Warehouse Duties
- Receiving, checking and sorting deliveries.
- Storing and retrieving warehouse goods.
- Supporting stock control and managing perishable items.
- Picking and packing customer orders.
- Processing goods for sale and maintaining efficient warehouse systems.
- Helping maintain warehouse areas and external yard storage.
What The Employer Is Looking For
Applicants should have:
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong numerical skills for cash handling and stock management.
- Good spatial awareness and safe product-handling abilities.
- Attention to detail when checking stock, payments and records.
- The ability to carry out accurate stock counts.
- Confidence recording product codes and locations using forms and computers.
- Good written and typing skills for product searches and stock control.
Previous retail, customer service or warehouse experience is preferred but not essential.
Working Hours And Conditions
The role offers variable hours, with full-time and part-time arrangements available. Store opening hours are Monday to Friday, 7am–6pm; Saturday, 8am–5pm; and Sunday, 10am–4pm. The employer states there is currently no late-night working.
The position involves standing for extended periods and moving goods. Induction and basic training take place on agreed weekdays. Applicants must be authorised to work in the UK and able to commute reliably for agreed shifts.
