Sunderland 1-2 MK Dons – Depressing!!

Sunderland fall out of the playoff places and into 7th following another defeat!
The first half was extremely dull with little happening for both sides!
Sunderland had what seemed to be a good chance as Ross Stewart was played in by Alex Pritchard on the 5th minute, however it was deemed to be offside.
The Dons’ took the lead just 3 minutes after the break as Josh McEachran played in a nice through ball to Mohammed Eisa who finished brilliantly following a quick breakaway.
Sunderland seemed to wake up slightly after MK Dons took the lead and 11 minutes later, substitute Elliot Embleton played in a delightful cross to Ross Stewart who scored with a glancing header.
The Black Cats’ failed to build on their equaliser and former Sunderland striker Connor Wickham scored just 3 minutes after coming on after ANOTHER easy breakaway!

My Views
What have I just witnessed!
Another gutless performance from the lads.
As we drop out of the playoff places, today just caps off what has been a very depressing few weeks for us Sunderland supporters.
where has it all gone wrong.
A couple of months ago we looked unbeatable and Lee Johnson had just won the manager of the month award.
Fast forward a few weeks later we have just 1 win in 7 matches, Johnson has been sacked, we had to put up with an absolutely clueless caretaker for a couple games and now Alex Neil has arrived the lads just look depleted and like they have given up.
Absolutely horrendous.
Player ratings
Patterson – 4 not much he could have done for the goals. However he never looks comfortable as a striker runs through on goal.
Carl Winchester – 3
Why is he playing in right back!! He is a midfielder. Trai Hume who is an out and out full back just sat warming up the bench. Why?
Callum Doyle – 4
Had to cover for Wright a number of times as he was caught out by the MK Dons attack. How many times do I have to watch him and whoever is playing next to him pass the ball between each other when we are chasing a game!
Wright – 3
He looked unfit and slow, could not cope with the pace of Dons’ forward line.
Cirkin – 3
Lost the ball numerous times, and was caught out of position far to often leaving spaces for thhem to breakaway on us.
Dan Neil – 2
Looked uninterested. Gave the ball away so many times with lazy passes.
Cory Evans – 2
As much as he tries he is just not good enough. Too slow, can’t pass needs dropping as soon as possible.
Leon Dajaku – 3
Tried to take his man on a few times without ever really being successful. When he did get passed him, his final ball was terrible.
Jay Matete – 6
Battled well throughout and constantly gave 100%. By far the best player on the pitch for us today.
Alex Pritchard – 5
Constantly trying to create with very little help. He is clearly better suited to play in the middle. I have no idea why he was playing on the left today.
Ross Stewart – 5
Took his goal brilliantly. He was quiet throughout with very little service as usual.
Jack Clarke – 6
Looked bright when he came on. He was running at his man and creating chances. Should never have been dropped.
Elliot Embleton – 5
A brilliant assist for Stewart’s goal. Apart from that he was quiet.
Patrick Roberts – 4
Brought on with not much time remaining and failed to make an impact.
