Sunderland 2-2 Watford – Match Report

Patrick Roberts scores a last-minute wonder goal to give Sunderland a slight bit of hope going into the final game next week.
Sunderland started the game strong, without causing the Watford ‘keeper much to do.
Against the run of play, Watford took the lead 17 minutes in as Kabasele headed home from a corner.
Watford really parked the bus from this point onwards, and the Sunderland players gave it there all, but they just couldn’t break them down.
In the second-half, the pattern of play was exactly the same.
Watford almost doubled their lead early in the second-half when a deflected cross was brilliantly saved by Patterson.
In the 69th minute, Watford scored from a corner again, as Ryan Porteous headed home once again.
Less than 1 minute later, Luke O’Nien pulled a goal back after getting on the end of a shot/cross by Alex Pritchard.
The players gave everything to get at least a point from the game, and Patrick Roberts scored a 95th minute worldie, as he cut in and curled it into the top corner.
Sunderland stay in 7th, 2 points away from the play-offs.
It is still possible!
