In another huge game at the Stadium of Light The Black Cats’ will be hoping to climb back into the play-offs with a victory over Cambridge United.
Sunderland are currently 9 games unbeaten as they are the side to beat in these later stages of the season.
They currently sit in 7th place and level on points with Wycombe in 6th but they do have a game in hand on them which could prove vital in a huge midweek game at home to promotion chasers Rotherham United.
Cambridge are currently 12th in the league in what has been an impressive 1st season back in the third division.
United are in good form themselves as they have won 4 of their last 6 games despite losing to Charlton 2-0 last week.
Sunderland will need to be weary of Joe Ironside and Sam Smith who together have 30 goals this season, scoring 15 each.
Alex Neil will be hoping that Sunderland star man Alex Pritchard will be able to feature as he has been edging closer to a return in recent weeks after sustaining a calf injury.
Striker Ross Stewart will also be hoping to find his form again and end his goal drought as we reach these vital last 3 matches.
